New Blog Posts, Big Changes, and a Whole Lot of Community Love

Hey Everyone,

Whew, what a summer!
Some of us were outside every weekend. Some of us got real cozy with our air conditioners and delivery apps. And some of us did both because balance lol.

But no matter how your summer has been, I hope you’ve made time for something that fuels you. Time with your people. Quiet moments alone. And maybe, just maybe, a few good therapy blog posts?

Let’s Catch Up on the Blog, Shall We?

In case you missed it, I’ve been writing like I had something to say. Which I did. A lot. These recent blog posts all center around learning new therapy tools to support us when deep breaths and water just are not enough.

✨ “Do I Have to Forgive to Heal? (Spoiler: Not Always, and Definitely Not Like That)”
Let’s unpack the pressure to forgive and forget. Healing is not a group project with someone who hurt you. You get to heal your way.

✨ “Wishing for a Miracle? Solution Focused Therapy Has a Question for You”
Sometimes the answer is not in overthinking. It is in one powerful question. No fairy dust required.

✨ “STOP Before You Snap: The DBT Skill That Might Just Save You From Getting Fired, Dumped, or Dragged”
We have all had that moment. Heart racing, eyes twitching, one group text away from a full spiral. Let’s talk DBT’s STOP skill before that moment becomes the moment.

✨ “CBT: It’s Not About Lying to Yourself. It’s About Setting Yourself Free”
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy gets a bad rep, but guess what? It is not about slapping affirmations over trauma. It is about freedom. For real.

Also, I Did a Big Thing

Drumroll please

I quit Kaiser.

Yep, I said goodbye to my 9 to 5 (more like 7:45am to 7:45pm some days) and wrote about my transition in a blog post titled:
“Goodbye, Kaiser: Grateful for the Growth, Ready for the Next Chapter”

This move is about creating more space for you, for me, and for the kind of mental health work that goes beyond checklists and 15 minute med checks.

As Summer Winds Down, Don’t Hibernate Just Yet

I know, I know. August hits and suddenly the urge to go full ghost mode kicks in. But before you cancel every invite and prep for seasonal depression like it is a storm warning, let’s talk about community.

Because the truth is, we still need each other. Especially now.

This month’s theme is all about community. How we build it, why it matters, and how to stay connected without losing yourself in the process.

And it starts at the very beginning with how we learned to be in community through early attachment.

“Let’s Talk Attachment: Why You’re Not Just ‘Too Clingy’ or ‘Too Distant’”
Spoiler alert. You’re not broken. You just learned what you learned. Now we get curious, not critical.

And coming real soon:

🔜 “Why We Still Need Each Other: The Power and Complexity of Community”
🔜 “The Power of Community, Part Two: The American Dream Is Keeping Us Apart”
🔜 “How to Become More Disciplined (Without Driving Yourself Nuts About It)”

One Last Thing Before You Go

Don’t forget to check in with yourself. Not just emotionally, but mentally, physically, and spiritually. As we move into a new season, now is a good time to reset and refocus.
